A trip to Beechworth for 2-4 days of riding and socialising. Last year we organised a trip to north east Victoria, where 18 members and friends stayed in Beechworth for between 2-4 days of riding and socialising. We have quite a few new members who did not have the opportunity to come with us last time, so we thought that we would explore the possibility of repeating the trip this year. The Murray To Mountains Rail Trail is sealed and suitable for road bikes, and there are many other riding opportunities in the area. Last year most of us stayed in cabins in the caravan park, whilst a few chose to stay in motels.
The proposed dates for the trip are from Thursday 4th to Monday 8th December. Last year, some came for the weekend only, and we arranged what we saw as the premier rides for the Saturday and Sunday, to accommodate those who were unable to come for more than the weekend.
Keep in mind that we were able to arrange for riders to take either longer or shorter ride options, but meet up for lunch, or earlier on the trail. Feedback from last year was very positive. Participants do not need to be club members, but will need to sign insurance waivers before joining in club rides.
As of the middle of October, there are still cabins vacant at the caravan park. At the time of writing, 17 have registered to come on the trip, with another few weighing up their options. You don’t have to be a club member if you would like to come and try us out. Send us an email via the club website if you would like more information.
