Sunday Social Ride – Kyneton – 30th November 2014

15 riders assembled at the velodrome on this very warm morning including 3 members of the Melbourne Bicycle Touring Club who traveled up from Melbourne via the train.

9 riders rode the longer route and the other 6 the shorter route. Everyone then joined up at the Bakery in Malmsbury for some sustenance, coffee and social interaction.

An enjoyable time was had by all even though it was hot on the road.

Following the rest the group then rode back to Kyneton.

Social Ride

Sunday Social Ride – Woodend – 23rd November 2014

17 riders started from Woodend this morning in ideal conditions with most riders opting for the shorter ride, 3 only went for the longer option.

One rider had the misfortune to have his Di2 gears stuck in granny gear for the most part of the ride. Not a very happy cyclist as the latter part of the ride was mainly flat and fast. The perils of electronic gears and a flat battery..

However the riders returned for a coffee and the members on the longer ride arrived back before the majority of the riders had left the coffee shop.

A good ride was had by all except the flat battery member.

Social Ride

Sunday Social Ride – Gisborne – 16th November 2014

4 hardy souls braved the weather conditions for today’s ride from Gisborne. Fortunately the rain had ceased before the ride commenced and as they say ” Sunshine follows the foolhardy”.

All riders rode the short route and apart from a little misty rain for about 1 or 2 minutes up in Baringo the ride was mainly in sunshine with good riding company, drying roads and pleasant conditions except for the headwind on the way back to Gisborne.

Coffee in Gisborne was welcomed after the ride.

Social Ride

Sunday Social Ride – Kyneton – 9th November 2014

9 riders started from Kyneton in very windy conditions which made the ride out to Anderson Road extremely difficult but once the section where the tail wind came into force the riding conditions were very good. 6 riders took a slightly longer ride and the other 3 went directly to Paramoor from the corner of Anderson Rd and Coach Road.

2 riders also road directly from Woodend and joined the group at Paramoor Winery.

A enjoyable and sociable time was had at Paramoor with everyone fueling up on their wood fired pizzas.

From there 9 riders returned to Kyneton via Chases Lane and the cofee addicts had a cup in Kyneton before returning home.

An enjoyable time was had by all.

Sunday Social Ride – Woodend & Macedon – 2nd November 2014

10 riders assembled in fairly cold conditions to ride the Woodend side of Mt Macedon to the Cross. The weather conditions on the ride were quite good with riders being protected from the wind on the climb except when in Cameron Drive approaching the Cross.

3 riders rode from the Gisborne side.

All riders reached the top including 1 new member, 2 prospective members and also bypass man.  An enjoyable time was had at the coffee shop at the cross with both groups together. The 3 Gisborne side riders returned back down the Southern side and the Northern group split with 6 riders doing the long ride through Newham and the other 4 returning direct down the Mount to their cars. The 6 riders then had another mandatory coffee in Woodend before heading home.

Considering the start to the ride the weather turned out very well on the day.
