Sunday Social Ride – Woodend – 25th January 2015

Large turnout of 18 riders gathered on a nice morning with plenty of sunshine and a slight breeze which managed to get stronger as the morning progressed, but as the breeze was from the west it did not inconvenience the riders greatly. We had 2 new riders who had not ridden with us before. Also the new jerseys arrived with Christine and some members wore the new kit which is very nice looking gear.

4 ladies rode a short version as 2 had not been well and did not want to tackle the hills in Ashbourne Road.

8 rode the shorter route and 6 the longer route and every body enjoyed the coffee break at the end.

Great to see so many riders turning out.

Sunday Social Ride – Gisborne – 18th January 2015

12 riders assembled for the ride with 7 riders riding the longer circuit, 3 the shorter circuit and the remaining 2 had an early commitment and road a shorter version to enable them to get back in time.

The ride was conducted in cool conditions with some wind but the bulk of the ride was not effected much by the wind direction.

As usual coffee afterwards was enjoyable

Sunday Social Ride – Kyneton – 11th January 2015

5 riders assembled under grey skies and a decent southerly wind blowing. Unfortunately one member had left his helmet behind and was unable to ride. 4 set off and all rode the shorter route with Bryces Lane added in, by  halfway through the ride the sun was shining and the ride was completed in perfect conditions.

After everyone had finished coffee’s Luke decided he wanted to ride some more distance and Ken went to keep him company and they covered the Malmsbury, Youngs Road, Lauriston loop and by the time they were heading back from Malmsbury the wind strength had increased significantly making the return much harder, however apart from the hills seeming twice as steep they both made it back in good time.

Sunday Social Ride – Woodend – 4th January 2015

10 riders  braved the cool, windy and misty conditions on Sunday for the ride.

Dave, Luke, Ken and Bruno opted for the longer ride and the remaining 6 rode the shorter route as most had other commitments and needed to finish earlier.

The ride was run in good weather except for the longer ride group having some misty rain when they approached Lancefield and a nasty head wind for some time.

When everyone returned to the warmth of the coffee shop things were much better.
