Thursday Social Ride – Woodend – 29th December 2016

6 members assembled this morning for today’s ride. Conditions were warm with a strong North Wind blowing. We rode a 53km loop out to Newham via Bryces Lane and then on to Chases Lane and back along Batters Lane, Cobb & Co Road. We encountered some light rain in Don’s Road with standing water which had dissipated by the time we reached 3 Chain Road. Once we turned back towards Woodend we enjoyed a lovely tail wind all the way back.

We then retired to the cafe where we had a lady who had the misfortune to be sitting on the table with us in stitches with the banter going on between everyone. After an enjoyable time we all left for home after a great ride.

Thursday Social Ride – Woodend – 8th December 2016

Only one rider drove to Woodend for today’s ride. Conditions were very bad with heavy rain, strong wind and overcast skies. The weather was that bad that even I did not consider going for a ride. I retired to the cafe, had a drink and read the paper before heading home.

When conditions improved in the early afternoon I went for a ride then. Apart from the strong wind I had a good ride especially with the tail wind home.
