Sunday Social Ride – Woodend – 29th January 2017

22 riders assembled this morning for today’s ride in Woodend. Conditions were ideal with the sun shining and only a light breeze. We also welcomed a new member Peter having his first ride with the club.

3 riders rode the short ride, 7 rode the medium ride and the remaining 12 rode the long ride. All rides were conducted at a good pace and were all completed well before the weather had started to warm up.

Once back at the cafe the riders on the long ride arrived back as the medium group were leaving.  The usual chat and banter followed before everyone headed for home.

Thursday Social Ride – Woodend – 26th January 2017

10 riders arrived in Woodend this morning for today’s ride. Conditions were quite cool with a strong South wind blowing. We rode a 52km loop out via Newham, Chases Lane, Batters Lane and back. The ride was great heading towards Kyneton with the tail wind but unfortunately things got worse when we turned to head back to Woodend. We had a first time rider with us this morning, Brian and a welcome to him. Brett also rode this morning but took the ride easy. By the time we arrived back in Woodend conditions had warmed up.

Following the ride it was nice to get into the sheltered area at the cafe for the usual chat and refreshments. After the break we all headed for home.

Sunday Social Ride – Gisborne – 22nd January 2017

19 riders assembled this morning for today’s ride. Conditions were mild with the sun out and a light breeze. We had 2 new riders this morning with the club and a big welcome to those riders. 15 riders rode the longer ride and the remaining 4 the shorter ride.

Riders enjoyed the conditions with everybody finished their rides before the heat began to build up. We had an incident on the long ride this morning when Brett suddenly began to feel very unwell and the riders with him called the ambulance. This resulted in a trip to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for observation. The good news is that he is OK and on his way home.

The mood at the cafe was quieter than normal until we had a call from the hospital that he appeared alright. Following refreshments we all departed for home.

Once back in Woodend we retired to the cafe where we enjoyed the usual refreshments and a good chat before heading home after a good ride.

23 riders assembled in Kyneton under cool conditions.  Once the sun came out the temperature started to warm up quickly and the ride finished with a good tail wind back to Kyneton. Rob also had the misfortune to cut a tyre on his car when he hit a steel spike in the long grass at the velodrome.

3 riders rode the short circuit, 8 the medium circuit and the remaining 12 the longer ride. All rides had some climbing with the medium and longer rides some difficult climbs. Some riders on both the medium and longer rides made short cuts during the rides because of time constraints.

24 riders assembled this morning on a warm cloudy start to the day. We were also joined by 3 riders in Trentham and One member who joined the medium ride part way through. A new member Andrew also had his first ride with the club.

4 riders rode the short ride, 10 the medium ride and the remaining 14 the longer ride. With the earlier start riders were mainly finished before the weather started to warm up except for those on the longer ride. The riders on the longer ride were looking a bit frazzled when they reached the cafe.
