Soft-Start Ride

Who wants to get back on a bike and start cycling around the gorgeous Macedon Ranges?

Join the Soft-Start Road Cycling Ride.

Cycling for beginner and returning road cyclists.
Idea: to build up fitness and skills for joining/rejoining one of the faster/longer Sunday and Thursday morning rides around the Macedon Ranges.

Also, it’s a warm up for The Women’s Ride – Ride to the Rock on the 6th March 2016. See: http://thewomensride.com.au/event/ride-to-the-rock/

20th Feb – 9am Clocktower, Woodend.
Pace: 15-20km/hr
Distance: Woodend to Hanging Rock Cafe – 12km, break, return
We will be gentle and wait at safe spots along the way. No one will be left riding alone. Experienced riders will accompany the group.

See the route at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12125117

Please let us know if you are coming on the Ride.

Equipment:
Road/cyclocross bike
Red tail light
Water bottles
Helmet
Spare tube (not tyre!)
Lycra not necessary at this stage
High visibility clothing
Sunscreen

Loads of time between now and the 2oth February to check brakes, oil chain, pump tyres etc. Mark Horner is a specialist at getting bikes road ready if you need mechanical expertise or a custom fit.

Mark will be at the Clocktower from 8.30am on Saturday, and will bringing a repair standMark's Bakfiet and intermediate tool kit for *free* pre-ride safety check, tweaks (track pumps, chain lube, etc.) if you are dubious about your bike’s health, or just want to be sure everything is GTG (Good To Go). Look for the orange bakfiets (funny looking cargo bike) and the scruffy hairy guy near it.

NB: Social ride only, not one of the Macedon Ranges Cycling Club rides.
I have been riding less than 6mo.
