  2. 7 am if you can make it. Saturday 17th November velodrome, cementing of safety Roll on roll off area.
  • Note:- come even if you cannot get out of bed that early as there are other things that can be done around the Clubhouse, bring paint brushes and electrical devices to remove old paint and suitable ladders/planks to reach the areas.
  • Then of course the most important thing is the celebratory BBQ at about 12pm after the work is done. SO bring stuff to eat, drink and share.

     3. 2.45pm, Saturday 25th November Romsey Festival participation. We will meet in the pub carpark unless otherwise advised.  All those who have club kit and even those who don’t are invited to come and be part of the club entry to the parade to display who we are.  Following the parade there will be a 30min criterium in the main street between Barry Street and Romsey creek bridge.  We will need about four blokes at each end to position the round hay bales for the race unless we can get a tractor to do it. Advice will be give on the day. Will also need a number of people to officiate during the race. Let me know that you will be there and are willing to help.

Whats happening 5th Aug 2-12

Hi all, Had a great ride yesterday afternoon with 10 riders varying in age from 11 to 70. Went up to the end of the bitumen along the road beside the freeway north of Marmsbury. Turned back and headed south from Marmsbury along Young’s Rd then onto Lauriston Rd  onto the old Calder and back to the Velodrome via Piper st and Mollison St.

Had an interesting conversation with Margaret of Wheelspeed Cycles Gisborne. Could be a long tern source of new members for us.

DATE CLAIMER 1. Put this in Your diary. Sat 25th August we anticipate to lay the concrete on the velodrome roll on/off area. Anticipated start time 8.30-9am We MUST have at least 6 blokes to assist in screeding off the concrete. Advise me that you are willing to help. By assisting you are making available more funds to complete the work on the training area for which we have received a further $1675.00.  So come one come all. Ladies you can come as well as we may be able to commence to paint the velodrome with the donated marking paint.  Bring stuff for a lunch time BBQ and we will make a day of it.

DATE CLAIMER 2. The Club kit order has gone in.  I have requested that it be available by the 8th September where we will distribute it out and then on Sunday 9th Sept you are requested to don your new kit and take part in the Daffodil festival parade on you bike to reveal our new kit to the people of Kyneton.

Continuing Work

At the velodrome work is progressing slowly. The Secretary will be there on Saturday morn about 9.15 to continue spreading the base and  commence laying the reinforcement mesh. Could well be that the new club sign will also be erected nearer to the road way.  So come along and lets get this part finished so that preparing for training area can commence so we can get it all completed including painting the lines etc on the velodrome, before the season starts at the end of October.
