Sunday Ride – Gisborne – 29th December 2019

22 members assembled in Gisborne this morning for today’s ride. Weather conditions were already warm at the earlier start time of 8.30am for the summer period. We had 1 first time rider with us and he picked a difficult ride to start with. One other member joined the ride just after the start making 23 riders altogether. As the ride commenced the wind began to strengthen and it was into the wind for the first part to either Nursery Rd or Woodend.

7 riders rode the medium ride, the remaining 16 rode the long ride or modifications of the ride. 1 rider decided he wanted to climb the South side of Mt Macedon and convinced another to go with him. 4 riders rode a slower modified long ride and the remaining 10 rode the full ride with the exception of 2 members who returned to Woodend from the top of Mt Macedon and did not descend back to Gisborne. Due to the strong Northerly wind the rides were into the wind early followed by a fast descent with the tail wind back to Gisborne. By the time the rides finished the temperature had increased into the 30 degrees.

Back at the the cafe it was the usual refreshments and chatter sitting in the shade of some big trees before we all headed home.
