Juniors Cycling Skills Program 2018

Juniors Cycling Skills Program

Ages 13 – 17 yrs plus a parent

The 8 week program will run on  Sunday mornings 8.30 am – 11.00 am. Commencing Sunday 8th April 2018.

Start locations will vary between Gisborne, Woodend and Kyneton. Click on the link below to register.

Our aim is to have juniors and their parents riding safely and confidently on our local roads, with the added benefit of getting to know which roads are good for cycling on, and which roads we tend to avoid.

The workshops will start off with the basics of cycling on road bikes, highlighting obvious (and not so obvious) techniques and tips. Towards the end of the 8 weeks we will focus on some aspects of road racing.

Workshops will  run for 2 – 3 hours, depending on our ride distance and speed, plus we generally finish at a coffee shop for a debrief and some welcome recovery. Written information, links to articles and YouTube videos will be emailed out prior to the rides, so we don’t have to spend too long chatting when there’s riding to be done. Equally, we’ll try to keep the distances we ride sensible, allowing everyone to grow their fitness with their skills.

What do you need

  • A roadworthy road bike – Mark Horner (0437 354 319)  is our friendly bike mechanic or visit your local bike shop.
