Thursday Ride – Woodend – 9th January 2020

11 members arrived in Woodend this morning for today’s ride on an overcast morning with a light south wind blowing which changed to a more Easterly wind. Once we commenced riding the skies started to clear and the temperature started to warm up.

We rode our usual loop out to Newham via Bryces Lane, 3 Chain Road, Chases Lane and turning at Batters Lane for the ride back to Woodend. The wind was very friendly for a change this morning with a tail or cross tail wind for most of the ride. The ride was therefore ridden at a fast pace due to the wind assistance and average speeds were in excess of 24.3kph. to approx 26kph.

Back at the cafe it was the usual chatter and refreshments sitting under trees in the shade before heading home. It was also good to see Russell on his feet and looking very well and hoping to haveĀ  him back on the bike as soon as he is able.
