Sunday Club Ride – Gisborne – 29th November 2020

12 members assembled in Gisborne this morning with another member joining the ride just out from Gisborne. Weather conditions were not very friendly for riding, cold wet and windy. The weather worsened as the riders headed towards Mt Gisborne with heavy rain and standing water on the roads until we turned at Deverall Road for the ride back to Gisborne.

6 riders started the long ride and the remaining 7 rode the medium ride. All riders on the long ride modified the ride with some turning back and 2 riding back to Woodend. The riders on the medium ride rode through the worst of the conditions before heading back to Gisborne.  As riders arrived at Black Forest Drive the sun had begun to shine through and the roads had dried out.

Back at the cafe it was the usual chatter and refreshments for those who stayed with some members deciding to head home to dry out and have hot showers.

Both rides also split into smaller groups with the faster riders in the front group followed by the slower riders. Most of our rides have opportunities to vary the distance when required.

Most riders were together at the cafe with the last of the riders getting back before the majority had left. The usual refreshments and chatter were enjoyed before we all headed home.
