7 members arrived n Woodend this morning on a very cold start to the day. As the ride progressed the sun came out and the temperature slowly started to warm making an enjoyable ride.

We rode our usual 53km loop out to Newham via Bryces Lane, 3 Chain Road, Chases Lane and turning at Batters Lane for the ride back to Woodend. Wind conditions were similar to previous weeks with an assisting wind followed by a head wind from Batters Lane. One rider cut the ride short as he noticed a split in the rear tyre. Sunday Club Ride – Gisborne – 21st February 2021

22 riders arrived in Gisborne this morning for today’s ride. Weather conditions were foggy with low cloud and limited visibility early. The cloud started to lift as we rode toward South Gisborne.  As the ride progressed the sun finally broke through with the latter part of the ride becoming quite warm. We also had 2 first time riders with the club this morning.

16 riders rode the medium ride and the remaining 6 rode the long ride. Riders on the long ride were delayed about half way through their ride when one rider had a puncture and the group stayed together while it was fixed. Most riders on the medium ride modified the ride by extending the distance and going on to either McBeans or Nursery Rd.

Riders were together at the cafe for the usual chatter and refreshments before everyone headed home.

5 riders rode the fast long ride, 6 rode the slower long ride. 2 riders rode the medium ride up to Straws Lane and the remaining 6 rode a modified medium ride. Due to the strong wind all rides were modified slightly by each group to get a much protection from the wind towards the finish of the rides. After repairing the puncture managed to snap the rear derailleur when replacing the wheel and needed  a lift back to Woodend.

All riders were together at the cafe for the usual chatter and refreshments. Everyone did not stay for long at the cafe due to the cold wind before heading home.

Sunday Club Ride – Gisborne – 31st January 2021

22 members rode this mornings Gisborne ride. Weather conditions were cool with a very strong Southerly wind blowing. Conditions warmed up a little during the ride when the sun came out. The southerly wind meant a tail wind to Woodend, the climb up Mt Macedon Road providing shelter from the wind. The descent  back to Gisborne was into the wind however with the steepness of the descent was not a big issue.

3 riders rode a modified medium ride after one rider had  minor mechanical issue. 11 riders rode the faster long ride group, and the remaining 8 riders rode the slower long ride group with a slight modification to the published route.

Back at the cafe it was the usual chatter and refreshments before we all headed home.
