Thursday Club Ride – Woodend – 6th February 2020

10 members assembled in Woodend this morning for today’s ride. The weather was foggy and cool early. Once we commenced riding we soon rode out of the local fog and the sun came out and temperatures began to warm up.

7 riders rode our normal 53km loop out to Newham via Bryces Lane, 3 Chain Rd, Chases Lane and turning at Batters Lane for the ride back to Woodend. The other 3 riders rode a shorter modified version of the ride. The wind strengthened during the ride and shifted slightly from a Northerly wind to a North Easterly mid way through the ride. The wind change meant a head wind for some of the early part of the ride followed by a tail wind for most of the way back to Woodend. With the generally favourable wind the average ride speeds were in the mid 20’s.

Back at the cafe it was the usual chatter and refreshments before we headed home.
