Sunday Club Ride – Kyneton

13 riders assembled in Kyneton this morning for today’s ride. The weather was very cold and with a strong north westerly wind blowing. All members anticipated that they would  be finished before the rain came in. Famous last words. The medium ride had the first light sprinkle as they back climbing Metcalfe Hill. The long ride encountered the rain as they crossed the freeway near Elphinstone. The rain varied from light hail & sleet to heavy at times but fortunately we mainly had a tail wind by this time.  By the time riders were heading back to Kyneton the roads had become very wet and everyone arrived back cold and soaked.

7 riders rode the medium ride and the remaining 6 rode the long ride with one member cutting the long ride short as he had to be home early.

Half the riders did not bother with the cafe as all they wanted to do was to get home and into some dry clothes. Those that did attend the cafe had the usual chatter and refreshments before heading home.
