Thursday Ride – Woodend – 26th April 2018

5 riders arrived in Woodend this morning for today’s ride. Weather conditions were cool with the then threat of rain and a light Southerly wind blowing.

We rode our usual 53km loop to Newham via Bryces Lane, Chases Lane, Batters Lane and back along Clancys Lane. We enjoyed a light tail wind at the start but unfortunately the wind strengthened making a difficult ride back to Woodend.

There was an accident on the ride this morning. Morgan hit a bump in the road near the Carlshrue Roadhouse. An ambulance was called and his injuries were judged as non-life threatening meaning a lengthy wait. Back at the doctors  in Woodend an xray confirmed a broken collarbone. Our best wishes for a speedy recovery and hope he is back on the bike as soon as he has recovered.

Back at the cafe it was a subdued group as we awaited the results of the dostor’s visit.
