Thursday Club Ride – Woodend – 20th February 2020
10 riders assembled in Woodend this morning for today’s ride. Weather conditions were cold, overcast with the threat of rain and a strong southerly wind blowing. We had one new rider with us this morning having his first ride for a couple of years on his road bike and rode a short ride. The remaining 9 split into 2 groups of 6 riders and 3 riders.
The 3 riders rode a modified normal loop of 48km eliminating the Bryces Lane section. The remainder rode our normal ride. When we reached Pipers Creek Road there was road sealing with a delay of at least 10 minutes. We retraced our steps back to 3 Chain Road and continued on from there riding 50km. Riding conditions were similar to previous weeks with a strong tail wind early and an equally strong head wind back to Woodend. We managed to complete the ride with just a few light spits of rain as we finished.
Back at the cafe it was the usual chatter and refreshments before we all headed home.
