Sunday Club Ride – Woodend – 16th February 2020
19 members arrived in Woodend this morning for today’s ride with inclement weather at the start. The morning was cloudy with light drizzle and a strong southerly wind blowing. Not ideal conditions for a ride. One member (Names will not be mentioned) decided not to ride and the remaining 18 started riding. We had a tail wind for the early part of the ride then a head wind for the middle section and a cross wind for the ride back to Woodend along Ashbourne Road.
All riders commenced riding the medium ride as most of the riders present who would normally ride the longer ride decided not to due to the weather. By the time we had reached Anderson Road the weather began to clear and from then on we had a good ride with intermittent patches of sunshine. 2 of the group decided to ride the short ride and the remainder continued on the medium. By the end of Central Road the ride had split into 2 groups of 8 riders each. All rides were ridden at a good pace due to favorable winds for a good part of the ride.
Once back at the cafe it was the usual chatter and refreshments before we all headed home.
