Thursday Ride – Woodend – 26th December 2019

14 riders arrived in Woodend this morning for today’s ride. Weather conditions were a little cool early with a strengthening South Easterly wind blowing. The ladies had organised a ride and the usual Thursday riders joined with them and rode together. We rode a 61km loop out to Malmsbury via Cheveley Rd, Lauriston Reservoir Rd, Youngs Rd and back along Malmsbury East Rd, Batters Lane, Cobb & Co Rd to Woodend.

With the strong tail wind to Malmsbury the average pace was 27kph or faster for all riders. On the return ride the pace slowed considerably as we were riding into the same wind all the way back to Woodend.

We had a mid race cafe break with the usual chatter and refreshments. Once back at Woodend it was then the case of heading home.
