Thursday Ride – Woodend – 23rd January 2020
3 foolhardy members turned up this morning for today’s ride. Weather conditions were cold, wet with a strong northerly wind blowing, just like a normal mid winter ride. Conditions did not improve during the ride and if anything they got worse with the rain stinging and in our faces for the early part of the ride so we shortened the ride.
We rode the normal short Woodend weekend ride out to the Carlshrue Roadhouse and back via Cheveley Road plus Russells Road, Crows Road for a distance of 40km. Towards the end of the ride conditions eased slightly with the ran stopping and a tailwind for the last portion.
The only good point of the mornning was the warmth of the cafe for the usual chatter and refreshments before heading home to dry out followed by cleaning all the muck off our bikes.
